Effective for overland trip planning

Initially, I obtained this app for recording off-road expedition routes. When I decided to start leading expeditions, I found how easy it is to plan a route on the GAIA GPS website, then sync it to my iPad. The many layer options are very beneficial.

I do wish GAIA GPS would add a 3rd option on the website for vehicles. Currently, it has options only for hiking and cycling. Those of us who use this for planning trips on 4x4 unpaved roads across AZ, NM, UT, CO, AR, OK, TX, etc...would appreciate a vehicle option.
