4 stars and not 5 only for the limited avalability of maps
Lot of maps, and offline navigation
Absolutely not loading maps on ipad. Is a bad expensive app
I love the app on my phone, and I was excited to put it on my new Apple Watch. Unfortunately the watch app isnt showing the distance traveled. Everything else on the app works, but I had to rely on Apples Workout app for my distances. Because distance traveled is important to me I have to leave only four stars. I hope this gets fixed soon because Id rather use the GaiaGPS app.
Ive been using this app for the last few years and it has steadily improved. I am giving it 5 stars, it has everything I need and I work in remote areas.
This is great and worth the premium price my handheld gps is useless now only wish we could find way to lower battery usage more
Great for any outdoor activity. I use it for hunting, fishing, and hiking. Get it!
Hands down the best app for planning tracks, following tracks, and importing GPX tracks from a wide variety of sources. The Gaia team is constantly making improvements to the app and adding additional map options. Proud user for over 3 years.
Clear. Easy to use
Ive been using Gaia for two years, its by far the best app I use in any category. Highly recommended.
Really well designed, and miraculously frugal with battery. If you spend time in the out of doors, this is the GPS/mapping app that you want.
Use this when I was thru-hiking the Pacific Crest Trail last year. Awesome app, great method for downloading just the topos you need, expensive but worth it. 10/9/2015- still really the best app out there and they keep working to improve it.
Edit (10/3): Shared track details are now a closer match to actual track details with one exception: shared track distance is rounded down to the nearest tenth of a mile :) Still a 5 star app. --------------------------------- This app is fantastic. Ive used it for years. Ive come to depend on it and have subscribed to the pro version for the added benefits. The app could use improvement in three main areas 1) more specificity behind the syncing options, 2) better sharing options. The shared web view of a track is a bit lackluster and the details (such as distance traveled) dont always match the track on the phone. 3) full camera capabilities within the app (e.g. Panorama). I find myself switching between the phone camera app and the Gaia camera app fairly frequently during hikes.
Out of the 4 overlays that they offer only one actually does well and that is the Caltopo one. Id use the Earth style but it wont allow you to zoom in so I have to use Google maps to offset this weakness. I should ask for 75% refund for this issue because there are too many free apps that does what this one does but for free.
Not sure how many people I have recommended this app to, 20? 30?
I have tried all applications & love how it tracks my desire to hike, run or explore cities anywhere in the world (currently in the Baltic countries) & I can easily leave way points on important locations & associate pictures. Easy to share with friends. Support has been timely & eager. Thanks team!
Its simple. It works. A must for bike packing. Get it and see for yourself.
Roughly a billion times better and more useful than my Garmin Oregon 450, a dedicated hiking GPS. Using Gaia while out on adventures is a dream. On my 6+, I get incredible battery life to boot. I hike and trail run and Gaia has paid for itself many times over.
This is a must have app for backpackers
Ive used this app for a few years and it keeps getting better. It was the best one when I first got it, and it has maintained that position with regular and significant updates. Just wish for map update. Some outdated.
